Has Tantra ever aroused your curiosity?
Learning Tantra allows you to achieve incredible pleasure combined with spiritual awareness, which can be the solution in many relationships.
For some of us, the word 'tantra' is associated with sex. For others, it represents a philosophy of healing and connection that they practice every day, as I do. It is a way of finding the bliss and vitality within ourselves that many of us have learned to suppress these days. There is a lot of suffering, misunderstanding and confusion in life that we keep going through. Hence, sometimes the world seems a very confusing place. Pain allows us to learn and grow, as each of us has many lessons to learn in our lives. Being in difficult situations for too long has a huge impact on our emotional wellbeing. Tantra practices allow us to return to our centre and release energy that has been deeply dormant.
What is tantra practice?
Tantra practice allows us to release all the accumulated emotional baggage, shame and insecurities that block us. There are several aspects of tantra:
Tantric Sex
Tantric massage
Tantric Yoga
Meditations
Breathwork
Why is this timeless art so important to us?
The practice of Tantra in modern terms helps us to be attentive to everything that happens during our intimate life. Which definitely translates into a healthy and thriving sex life. One of the most beautiful things we experience in our lives is being fused together with another being. Such a fusion is also the core of our existence, because each of us was created through the unity of the two energies that gave us life.
In our time, this is an area that is heavily overlooked because of the transformational growth we are experiencing. Nowadays, the word sex or even the act is something that is not given the respect and honour it really deserves. Only 42 per cent of Poles are satisfied with their sex life. 47 per cent of women fake an orgasm, one in five men aged 18-29 have erectile dysfunction. 15 per cent of Polish women and 17 per cent of Polish men cheat on their partners. These are the data provided by the report "Sexuality of Poles 2017", which is carried out periodically every five years by Prof. Zbigniew Izdebski. Tantra gives us the opportunity to change the erroneous perception of sex as the art of making love. It ceases to be something embarrassing and is not clearly associated with pornography. Tantric sex are moments of intimate connection, which give a boost of vitality and vitality, which allow us to regain our inner sexual power.
Then what is tantric sex?
Most of society associates sex as the pursuit of orgasm/ejaculation. Let's establish at the outset that orgasm and ejaculation are not the same thing, but they often go hand in hand. Tantric sex is a completely different tale. It is a journey starting from foreplay, to expressing sensual emotions, to feeling all the sensations in your body that bring you together. Sensual touch, intimacy and sex are more than just physical sensations. What if I call such a journey a meditation that opens the door to our inner self? All paths leading to transformation come with pain. Our mind is the largest sexual organ, where the greatest traumas are hidden. Tantra helps us to be present in that moment, so sometimes our negative beliefs about ourselves can rise to the surface. On more than one occasion I have found myself unblocked and in tears during a tantric act with my partner.
Sex is like a Rorschach test. We project parts of ourselves onto it: longings, traumas, feelings and hidden parts of ourselves not expressed in everyday life. The things that excite you tell a story about you, your history and who you are in the making.
I was going to describe the sexual positions in tantra, but I decided they would have their own separate blog post, so I invite you to read more now.
Tantric massage?
I have already written a little about tantric massage in previous posts. The history of tantra is a separate section, which I am also happy to share with you in the near future. Tantric massage is a ritual in which the other person's body is treated with due sanctity. This is why Yoni and Lingam massage is called massage of sacred places. Massage is a great form of foreplay, which I repeat to people like a mantra. During this process, deep breathing is important to help us distribute the energy in our body. When used mindfully, it can connect your sexual energy with powerful awakening and healing.
* Yoni massage. This massage allows the yoni owner to feel loved, cherished and honoured. Its purpose is to give you more energy and more pleasure. Additionally, it has been known to help some women heal their sexual shame and trauma, so slow down and awaken your inner goddess.
* Lingam massage. For most men, the goal is ejaculation. However, lingam massage is about giving, receiving, loving and worshipping. So here the emphasis is on stimulating the whole body, so that the man is on the verge of feeling aroused for an extended period of time.
Remember: tantric massage is not about sex. It is about understanding your sexual energy, awakening your sacred sexuality and creating a deeper, more intimate connection with yourself and your partner.
What is Tantra Yoga?
Tantra yoga - or orgasmic yoga - combines meditative and yogic practices. It aims to provide a deeper understanding of the self, as well as promoting feelings of self-love and acceptance.
The benefits of this practice are:
Reduced stress.
Increased connection with your partner.
Increased sexual desire.
More pleasure
Improved sleep
Improved mental concentration
What is Tantra Meditation?
Meditation combines mindfulness and breathing to open our chakras. And once these chakras are open, energy flows freely through us. Tantra meditation goes a step further, adding movement and sound to the mix to awaken your senses.
There is a wealth of research detailing the benefits of meditation. In fact, a 2019 study on the role of sexual mindfulness found that "sexually mindful midlife adults were more satisfied with their relationships and sex lives, and had better self-esteem."
